Youth at the Raymond Cerf Cottage, one of the two Villages group homes in Douglas County, take part in a fire drill testing the new fire safety system in their home.   This and an identical system next door at the H. Roe Bartle Cottage, were installed with funds provided by the Topeka Community Foundation’s 2004 Safety and Prevention Grant program.  These state of the art alarm systems replaced the previous, 25 year old fire alarms which had been requiring frequent repair.
